When was your first trip to Walt Disney World?
Not sure exactly, my parents brought me as a kid many times and so I’d say my first visit was around the age of 7 or 8 or so. My parents favorite story from an early visit was one time I really wanted a gun from Pirates of the Caribbean and after many hours of fighting, they gave in and let me buy one. After we bought it, they asked me what I wanted to do now and I replied “Let’s go shoot Mickey Mouse!”.
What is your favorite Disney Attraction and why?
Tower of Terror and the reason is because it is the best overall attraction in Walt Disney World. When you consider what makes a good attraction (story, theme, ride), the Tower of Terror has it all. It has a developed story, amazing theme and really fun ride and when you compare to other great Disney rides, the rest come up short (Pirates: Okay story, good theme, not-so-great ride/ Haunted Mansion: Basic story, great theme, boring ride).
Are you involved in any Disney Websites? If so, which one(s)?
I have three sites I work on actively: StudiosCentral.com, TowerOfTerror.org and RocknRollerCoaster.com.
When was your last WDW vacation?
This past weekend. In honest, a real trip where we stay in a hotel and spend a few days in the parks would have been Reunion 2010 (December 1-5, 2010).
What is your favorite Disney Character?
Gaston. I think he’s great and misjudged. What guy hasn’t had a crush on a girl that wasn’t interested in you? He works out, loves to shoot guns and drink beer. What’s not to like?
What is your favorite time to go to WDW?
First weekend in February. Before I moved to Central Florida, I used to come every year for the first full weekend of February and always found the perfect balance of crowds and weather. Usually good weather (no hurricanes, not rainy season, fairly warm) and low crowds. It’s a pleasure to be in the parks during that time of year.
What is your favorite WDW Memory?
Probably is when I proposed to my wife during the Osborne Lights in 2006. She never saw it coming and I had a crazy plan that failed, but in the end it worked out wonderfully and she was so happy that it made that trip and it’s something we still talk about.
What else would you like us to know about you?
I think it’s great you are profiling folks in the Disney Internet Community. It’s such a pleasure to meet people who run the various blogs, podcasts and websites and by helping introduce people to others, I think it helps the community as a whole, so thank you for taking the time to talk with me!
Please list what Disney Projects you are involved with and their links so we may share them.
I also am a host of WDW Today, a trip planning podcast, which is available for free at http://www.wdwtoday.com
